Cream is what makes this one. Every other Dallas Cowboys varsity jacket leads with navy or blue; this leads with a warm off-white body and lets the blue sit on the sleeves and trims, which flips the whole balance of the design.

It is a harder colour to wear and a much better one to be photographed in. Cream reads vintage in a way navy never does, and it puts the retro helmet and star graphics on a background that actually shows them off.

The body is wool with faux leather sleeves in blue. The leather is the practical part of that choice — cream sleeves would mark within a week, so the contrast is doing real work as well as looking right.

A full zip with top and bottom snap overlay runs down the front. Viscose lining runs through the inside, and there are four pockets: two on the sides and two more within the lining.

Rib knitted collar and cuffs carry the cream and blue banding, framing the openings and pulling the shape in at the wrist and waist.

This is a heavier jacket than the satin builds, closer in weight to the championship and black and gold versions, so it works through autumn and into winter over a knit.

Sizes run XS to 3XL in a unisex cut. There is room to layer without the shoulders straining, and the ribbed hem keeps the body from looking boxy even on the larger sizes.

Cream wool needs a little discipline: hang it, deal with marks as soon as they happen rather than letting them set, and keep it away from direct heat. Made to order, with production usually complete within a day.

Worth knowing before you order: cream wool varies very slightly between production runs, in the same way any undyed or lightly dyed natural fibre does. It is a characteristic of the material rather than a fault, and it is part of why the colour looks warm rather than flat white.
